Parliamentary Hearings on Linking Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Services

20-21 April 2004 - House of Commons, London

The APPG held Hearings to collect evidence from a variety of people and organisations involved in providing and formulating Sexual, Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS services. The expert witnesses presented their responses to a questionnaire that IPPF produced on behalf of the APPG, and were then questioned by the panel.

The Goal of the Hearings was to stimulate political debate on the integration of services, defined in Cairo in 1994, and Ottawa in 2002. The APPG sought examples of where helpful integration of services has taken place and also examined examples of where the search for integration would not be as valuable.

The APPG will produce a report of the evidence taken and will make recommendations on future policy in the UK and at the international level. The report will be launched at the Ottawa +2 conference in Strasbourg, on October the 18th 2004, and will be available on this website.
